Is it so very wrong to just want a huge-ass, 1000K slash epic in any of my fandoms?

Seriously. I've pretty much read the entire Internet when it comes to my long standing fandoms and have now moved on to small ones that catch my eye. Even doing that does not appease the beast, though. Me getting desperate as I reach the end of yet another fandom is not a pretty sight, my friends. Additionally, there aren't that many fandoms left in which I have even the slightest interest. I guess I could take this as a sign to, you know, get a life but I won't. I just have this ugly picture of me finally breaking down and wandering into the scarybad place of Kirk/Spock.

::shudder::

Word. I so know how you feel. None of my main fandoms have anything like that - CSI, Everwood, Without a Trace, etc. Even my first slash fandom, The Sentinel, which used to be really high volume with lots of long fics, has slowed down tremendously. The same with Due South. As for Stargate, it's still on the air, so it's nowhere near the low volume of TS and DS, but it's defintely dropped...and the way the show is now has sort of turned me off from the fandom anyway. Bah. It really just sucks. I remember when I first started reading fan fiction - there seemed to be a never-ending number of long, well-written stories. It was the same when I first started reading slash. But, nowadays, it seems like so much of it just really sucks and that there's a lack of stories in general. I don't know, maybe I'm just more discriminating now and/or don't belong to the right fandoms for what I want. It just all really annoys the crap out of me. *sigh* I'm going to stop typing now. I'm sure you didn't really want me bitching all over your live journal.

You know this is exactly why I'm constantly starting giant WIPs that never get finished; it's because there's nothing really long and involved and entertaining in any of my fandoms, so if I want to read it I have to write it. And that just sucks, because it's totally not the same thing.

This is why I've read so much of the Joxerotica archive. I'm not proud, but desperate times sometimes call for really strange pairings.
