This shall wander into TMI

So I've been sick the past couple of days. Nothing serious, just a cold, but I've been exceptionally snotty. Which is good, I guess, because it means the cold isn't moving down into my lungs thus starting another 4 month bout of bronchitis because I have no insurance and am too poor to go to the doctor. So, yeah, snotty. This morning, I was driving to work and felt a sneeze coming on. Now, normally when I sneeze, in the absence of tissue, I'll just bury my face in the crook of my elbow to try to limit the area of spatter. This morning, though, a little voice in my head told me that would be a bad idea and you have a handful of napkins in the glovebox get them out now and it might be a good idea to take off your gloves too MOVE WOMAN!

It was, hands down, the grossest sneeze ever. I don't know if any sneeze in history has EVER done its job of removing blockages and foreign material from the sinuses like this sneeze did. Yeah. Ew.

God, I am so sorry anyone who actually read that. I don't know why I'm shared that, but I did.

In other news, the cold has slowed the NaNo process down (is that even possible? comes from the peanut gallery. Shut up, peanut gallery), but I started picking up the pace last night. I think because I'm close to the inital sighting of Jeremy.

You'd think I was a mother considering how not gross I find those kinds of discussions. And yet my own mother, who raised the most allergy-ridden kid on the planet (that would be me) gets grossed out at the mere mention of the word 'snot'. She has tooth issues too. And people wonder why I'm crazy.

But yeah, I'm sorry you're still feeling lousy, but I'm glad to hear it's not developing into the misery of bronchitis. And I'm glad to hear you averted disaster this morning with the work clothes, because that would have been awful.

You're not crazy. You're eccentric.

I'm actually feeling pretty good now, if you don't count the chapped nose and vaguely puffy sinuses.
