this week has sucked

It started on Tuesday when, as I was driving home from work with the window down to enjoy the lovely spring day, I heard something and thought to myself, "Whose car is making the terrible noise?"

Oh. It was my car.

So I stayed home from work on Wed morning to take it into the garage. Wherein the moment the mechanic got in it to hear the noise, it ceased and has not made it since. So I missed 3.5 hours of work for nothing. Oh, the mechanic suggested a repair, but it wasn't for the noise, so it can wait.

Then, on Thursday, my craptastic alarm clock failed to go off, so I was unable to shower before work. The same thing happened this morning. I would kill someone for a shower right about now.

I'm going to Target tonight to get a new alarm clock, but I feel like I shouldn't have to since this one is maybe 3 years old. I should never have replaced old reliable. The alarm clock I had all thought jr high, high school, college, and for 7 years after college never failed me even though I had abused it terribly. It was all sticky from the duct tape I had used to secure it to my bunk bed my freshman year of college and there was something that rattled around inside of it, but it never failed to go off when it was set.

::kicks new alarm clock::

Anyhoo, this sucktastic week has led to me taking a mini break from LJ commenting. I was just too annoyed all week long to do more than the briefest comments for the most part. I'm back now, though.

They just don't make alarm clocks like they used to. No, for real, because I had the same alarm clock all through high school and college and right up until four years ago, and I spilled water in it and dripped candle wax on it and it never failed. Then I replaced it with one that plays CDs, and the thing has been a nightmare since day one. It goes off, but a few months after I bought it the volume stopped working, so even though it's turned all the way down all the time, it's loud enough to wake the dead.

I should really get a new alarm clock. But at least it wakes me up. Also, I'm sorry you had a sucky week. I think it was going around. But whenever my week sucks I always spam livejournal more. I should probably take a page from your book.

My alarm clock always work. Of course, this could be because my alarm clock is my mother and, you know, she's evil and always makes me get up when I don't wanna. heh. Seriously though, the reason I don't use an alarm clock is because I sleep like the dead and even with it blaring two inches from my face? It doesn't wake me up. In fact, most of the time I just integrate the annoying sounds into whatever I'm dreaming. ::shrug:: Not that you wanted to know that or anything. heh.

::hugs:: Poor twin. I'm sorry you had a bad week, darling. That fucking sucks. Boo. I do hope that you read lots of good fic though. ;) Porn, you know. heh.
