I had every intention of photoshopping last night away, but I just couldn't make it happen. It's really frustrating to me when there are 400 million pictures of one person on the internet and 5 of another, dammit. But I will perservere.

Movie night was cancelled for tomorrow as there was a death in The Ru-mate's extended family. Combine that with the fact that I now have to spend the weekend away from home because my stepbrother is a fucking delinquent and it makes for a melancholy Friday.

Mom and The Step-Dad are away on vacation. They're doing a driving tour of the Western US. They left last Wednesday and will return on May 1. Now, they don't have any kids at home so they're pretty much footloose and fancy free, right?

Oh so wrong. My youngest stepbrother is 18 and a fucking thug. He has ADHD combined with ODD and a seriously lacking sense of right and wrong. In their absence, Mom asked me, my brother and sister to keep an eye on the house and maybe spend the night occassionally. Now my sister was also going to borrow my mom's car while hers is in the shop and she went over to Mom's house last Saturday to spend the night and pick up the keys to the Civic.

When she arrived there, she discovered a strange car in the driveway, blocking access to the garage. After making sure the car was not familiar to anyone in the family, she called the police. The police told her that since she wasn't the homeowner they couldn't really do anything at that point, but they were kind enough to give her the name of the car's registered owners. Fine. Whatever.

Then she took a good look around the house and realized a couple of things:

a) There was a box cutter sitting on the stairs
b) The Step-dad's computer was on and tuned into bigbeautifulboobies.com or some such rot.
c) The spare keys for the truck and the house were missing.
d) The truck was missing.

So she called the police again and, again, since she wasn't the homeowner, they couldn't take any action, but they put out a pull over request on the truck so that they could take down the names of anyone actually riding in the truck so that when Mom talked to them and gave the go ahead to press charges, they could. She also called the owners of the car in the driveway who apparently expressed confusion as to what the car their teenage daughter drove was doing in Mom's driveway.

Um, hi? She's obviously a bad seed if she's hanging out with The Step-brother.

Since Brother and Sister live closer to Mom's house than I, they've been checking in and it's obvious the Step-brother has been skipping school to go over there during the day and look at porn, smoke pot, and take the truck, despite Brother's attempts to disconnect the garage door.

Sister left him a note the other night informing him we were aware of his activities and if he didn't cease immediately, we would rethink our decision not to ruin Mom's vacation and tell her what was going on so that she could call the police and have him dealt with.

In an attempt to head off what would undoubtedly be a disatrous attempt at a party by the Step-brother, I'm going to be spending Saturday night at the house.

At least I get to do laundry for free.

As my first foray into poll-making showed, you all have definite preferences when it comes to what I should work on next. So, I guess it's time to put on my Greg/Nick thinking cap and get down to it. As always, the story I *want* to write sprang fully formed into my head and it's just sifting through everything to get the exact words I need to make it work.

ugh. ::pets:: I'm sorry you have to deal with that, sweetie. All of it. You know what you need to do? Tape him to the floor and shove a balled-up sock in his mouth.

That's my brother's preferred plan of action and, while it does have its appeal, I'd perfer him in jail.

::pets more:: Oh, sweetie, I wish I had some brilliant advice for you but I have nothing. I'm completely useless when it comes to dealing with siblings other than to say yell at him and then ignore him and then rant about it until you can't breath. ::hugs:: It'll be okay, though, you get what you give, man.

Yeah. I mean, I'm removed enough so that it's mostly just an annoyance for me, but it's making The Mom crazy because she's been with Greg since Anthony was 9? 10? And has ALWAYS tried her best with that kid. She was his advocate with the school system, with doctors, with everyone for years, but they he got to be a punk and she had to wash her hands of him.

Now that? That really fucking pisses me off. No wonder you want to throw the little brat in jail. I can't stand that, she's done everything she can for him and he still insists on being a fucktard? That's just... no. God, no.

Exactly.

You guys are saints. I would have ruined my parents' vacation at the first sign of the cops not doing their damn jobs. It's called 'breaking and entering', since when does it matter who calls in the complaint?

I hope for your sake that he doesn't show up on Saturday at all so you don't have to deal with his delinquent craziness. Who leaves the porn right there on the computer screen when they leave?

Apparently they didn't track him down and arrest his ass because we couldn't prove he wasn't supposed to be in the house.

And as to who leaves porn right there when they leave?

A very stupid kid. Seriously. He makes dead bulbs look bright.

Wow, your step-brother sounds even worse than my almost-step-brother (and, god, the idea of being related to him, even in a purely legal way...). *hugs* But yay on free laundry.
