being unemployed does not lead to chatter

I had the epiphany the other night that Mabel the Cat is dreadfully afraid of thunder. We've had some huge storms the past couple of days and all she's done is cry and dart back and forth, sticking close to the floor. Poor baby.

[livejournal.com profile] everlastingwhy and I watched Ghost Ship last night. That movie sucked donkey balls. If not for [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane's wonderful slash, I would have turned it off after the first scene with the Cable O'Doom. As it is, I'm pretending the end of the final scene didn't happen. I find nothing as irritating as the 'shocking' twist that every horror movie insists on tagging on to a perfectly rational ending. In my mind, Munder and Dodge went to the light and are now living happily in the afterlife.

Um...hi. First of all, I'm very sorry. I say this to everyone who watched that movie because of me. All I can say is this -- the first time I watched it, I had the same reaction. Worst. Movie. Ever. Right? Yeah, it gets better after you watch it five or six times. Or maybe it's the fic writing that makes it better.

Okay, so it never gets any better, I just watch it because of my weird fixation with Dodge and Munder. And there's really not enough of them in the movie to make it worth it, so that sucks.

Only I would like to point out the same thing I tell everyone about the end -- that was not them carrying the gold. I know it looks like them, and I have no clue whatsoever why the director did that, but it's not. If you watch it on your computer you can see clearly that it's not them. In fact, I am obsessive enough that I did screencaps of the last scene so people can see it's not the same actors. They're here (http://desiderium.slashcity.net/media/ghostshipmedia3.html) if you want to see for yourself.

Dodge and Munder did go into the light to live happily ever after, I promise. So it doesn't suck as much as you thought it did. One day I am going to write a wacky reincarnation AU about those two, just because I can. Stupid movies where everybody dies at the end. How am I supposed to work with that?

Ah, I see you are correct. And though I could argue about stand-ins and union regulations, I won't. I prefer to think of it your way.

And if you write wacky AU reincarnation fic, I'll write you *anything* you request. And even in a timely fashion.

Well I don't know from union regulations, but they did credit those actors separately according to someone on one of the message board debates, so I don't know if that means anything. Not that I participate in message boards about Ghost Ship. I just happened to stumble across that argument. No, really.

You don't have to write me anything. I'll write the Ghost Ship AU anyway, but I'm going to wait until I finish the series. I'd miss them too much if I didn't find some way to get them back together.

You're missing the point, dear. I'm offering to forego my usual slow-moving, procrastinating form of writing to provide you with the slashy substenance necessary for life. *Any* fandom I'm familiar with.

I know, but I don't like to put unnecessary pressure on people to write exclusively for me. Although if you're really feeling motivated, you're welcome to finish that Stan/Casey interlude piece of yours. Because as you know, there can never be enough Stan/Casey smut.

Everybody loves your BWoC, too, though, so if you wanted to do a service for the internet BWoC-reading community as a whole and write some Tommy/Merton you certainly wouldn't hear me complaining.

Then again, if you really want to challenge yourself, Nick and Greg can always use the exposure of new, good writers in CSI fandom. I'm just saying. But you still don't have to write me anything.

You're killing me.

Heh. You asked. Just be grateful I didn't request the post-death Remus jealousy fic.

OK, you've got me there.
