So apparently, years of watching The X-Files has made me unable to keep any sort of canon details straight in my head.

The first season starts in '00, right?

Greg moved to Las Vegas pretty much right after he got his BS?

How long has Nick been in Las Vegas when the series starts?

That works for me. Although I should warn you that I am so bad at math that just seeing numbers makes my head hurt, even though they are clearly dates. But yeah, that makes sense.

OK, so here is the AU education/occupation timeline for the boys.

Nick
1989-1993 - B.S. Criminal Justice (I haven't decided which school)
1993-1994 - Police Academy
1994-1997 - Officer
1997-2000 - CSI in Dallas
2000 - Promoted to CSI 3; transfers to San Francisco.

Greg
Graduated HS at 16
1991-1994 - BS Chemistry Stanford (in 3 years)
1994-1995 - Internship at SFPD
1995-2000 - PT work at SFPD while completing PhD
2000 - Doctorate awarded; assigned to new unit at SFPD.

I'd go with A&M. That's actually mentioned on the show, while the site says Rice but with no reason to. And I've heard the site info has quite a few toher mistakes too. So I'd go with A&M.
