I had this fic idea the other day and there's just no way I could ever write it and do it justice, but my life seems EMPTY without this story existing for me to read.
It's not even a fully realized idea, just a pairing.
Bandslash, Patrick/Jepha and all the attendant...issues and kinks that could entail.
My soul yearns for this story, guys. Someone should write it.

tell me more. how do they meet?
Of course.
It's through a convoluted chain of promises made and favors owed stretching back 10 years and encompassing at least a dozen people that Patrick finds himself producing three tracks on The Used's new album.
He knows them, sort of, but hasn't seen any of them in years. Different scenes, different lives, not a big deal, but still. Yeah. way different lives.
I am hoping that Patrick stares at Jepha in what he thinks is a discreet manner until Bert finally makes a rude comment. Jepha calls a break and then drags Patrick somewhere to get reacquainted. Something like that?
Another is Patrick putting a quick and definite stop to all... Bertish shenanigans in the studio with a firm hand and firmer voice talking about time and place for licking your guitarist and "it is not on my time, McCracken."
He's not disrespectful, even when Quinn gets snotty about his friendship with Gerard, but he's no nonsense. He knows exactly how he wants the tracks to sound and he's not letting any of them out of the studio until he gets it. He knows his shit, though, and is so good behind the board that Jepha has to google his fucking birthday on a smoke break just to verify that, yeah, he's just that young.
Jepha has to wonder how the awkward kid he remembers spending half of Warped 04 hiding behind Wentz became this.
Do you think that, the first time, they don't really take him seriously, until he ends up just sitting there, arms crossed, staring with an eyebrow quirked for like, 10 minutes, until they are well and truly creeped out? Or does he just yell and throw something that misses Quinn's head by like, half an inch?
