You're the third person I know now who has a scent allergy or similar chemical sensitivity. This is why I will never, ever wear perfume--you end up being a total inconsiderate fucking douchebag without even knowing it! Nobody wins.
There are actually only a couple of scents I'm allergic too, but I'm super sensitive to the petrochemicals used in conventional perfumes to increase their longevity. Like, most essential oils are fine for me. I wear tons of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab stuff.
It's to confuse the aliens that have been hunting them across the vasty vastness of space and time. It is unfortunate the this causes you some discomfort.
I was in Walmart one day and smelled a woman's perfume for several aisles before I actually came upon her. I thought it was overpowering when I was just having an allergy attack due to her scent trail, but up close my sinuses stopped up in no time.
Less is more sometimes. Really some people need to realize that. Taking a bath in it is not necessary.
