Nearly done sewing super cute messenger bag. I just need to attach the strap but

a) I'm not convinced I'll like the non-adjustable fabric strap the pattern suggests.

b) I can't quite get the accumulated layers of bag and strap under the foot of my sewing machine.

c) Maybe I was tired last night, but I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to manuever the bag itself to sew the boxed 'x' when the it's all constructed already.

I hate you, Kwik-Sew patterns.

I might go to Hancock tonight and buy some webbing, a couple of D-rings, and one of those plastic slider/adjuster things.

That all being said, the bag is hella cute; I'll post pictures once I finish it.

I've been hanging out on the craftster.org boards a lot lately so I'm all about the sewing. There are a couple of really cute little cosmetic bag tutorials out there I'm going to work on. I've got a ton of scrap fabric so I just need a couple of zippers.

If the crafting orgy wasn't proof enough, it's very obvious to me that the deadline for bandombigbang is rapidly approaching since I have been completely in love with other stories despite my great affection for our bigbang idea.

Note to self:

WORK ON YOUR BIGBANG STORY. The world can wait for the AU "fixit"* post-movie Rorshach/Nite Owl II crossover with Smallville, okay?

Also, that Nick Carter/Bob Bryar story has been in your head for nearly a year now; it can wait another couple of months for you to start sketching out ideas.

* - not that Watchmen requires fixing in any way. It's just that some people deserve a different ending in my puppies and rainbows worldview.
