I hate you twisted k1, p1 ribbing. I hate you because it's been so long since I knit sock #1 I forgot that is the cuff I did and had to rip the cuff of *regular* k1,p1 ribbing THREE TIMES before I realized what the fucking problem was.

Casting on. Again.

I just want to finish these socks before my KnitPicks order arrives and I throw myself into learning how to knit lace.

Socks intimidated me until I knit one. They're actually pretty easy as long as you don't mind the dpns. I know there's a way to do them with two circs, but I had the dpns already.

As for the lace, we'll see how that goes. By the time I'm done with the knitting, maybe I'll have the blocking wires I want too.

Yeah, I currently lack dpns... I could make some I suppose, but blah. I should just buy some. But my family's all about scarves and dish clothes, so that's what I do (well, I'm making myself a bag as well)... But a friend of mine wants me to make her a sweater and I totally don't think I can manage it.

Oh, that Shimmer is lovely! I love that color combination. And wow, the Rebozo looks very ambitious. I think I'm going to ask people to buy me proper yarn (as opposed to cheap acrylic) this Christmas, especially if they want something knitted for themselves. :D

I had always been a cheap yarn knitter until I started spinning last year and realized how *lovely* good quality yarn was in comparison. So now I'm a snob. At least KnitPicks makes it affordable to be a snob. I fondled someone's Andean Silk at the Shepherd's Harvest Festival and it's *really* nice.

I've still got a good quanitity of acrylic in my stash, but I'm thinking of doing some charity knitting with it.

I think I'm going to budget something every month for stash enrichment - once I actually have *money to budget. There are some good acrylics out there, you're right, but I want to try knitting better things, and for that, I need better yarn.

I also just picked up some Rowan Cashsoft Aran weight to make the "Fetching" gloves from knitty for Jane. One of my LYSs has a wonderful display of KPPM that keeps calling my name to make this afghan that's in recent Interweave Crochet Edition. Nnnngh.

Yes. I just finished reading The Yarn Harlot and I can so sympathize with her. If only I could have a stash as lovely as her sounds... *eyes growing pile of acrylics* Some of these are going to charity knitting this year, I think...

I am also unemployed, unfortunately. Well, I start a new job tomorrow, but give that I have health care, dentist, bills, and possibly looking for a new place to live sometime soon, I don't think I'll be implementing that stash enrichment budget anytime soon. Dammit.
