I said, "Isn't he, like, 12?"
She said, "No! He's 25! You're only 30! That's fine!"
Hmm .
Tomorrow the Mom and I will spend the day together. I want to go see the Wallace and Gromit movie. We also will go to Creative Fibers and I will buy some undyed roving to experiment with dyeing and handpainting for spinning. I also will buy a dyeing only dish and some food dye for experimenting. In my mind, I want to create a yarn called 'Sumac' and have all the lovely colors sumac goes through as it turns from green to red.
I finished spinning the blue and green roving I bought two weeks ago and I did OK for my first time. The green is overtwisted in places and very thick & thin, but all mine! The blue is more standard, but still thicker than I'd like if I wanted to ply it, but as a single it's pretty good. I had some weak joins, so it broke in two places when I was skeining it, but I just tied it since I'm just going to use it for some winter gear.
I can't wait to get a wheel. I'm stalking eBay in a totally unhealthy way.
