We had many more people when we lived in Boston and it was always a craps shoot to figure out the best time to do laundry. Since I worked out of the apartment, I remember being up as late as 1am doing laundry. Su-hucks.
Plus, we have these tiny college boys upstairs, and they bring their laundry home. It's really best that they bring their laundry home, as they put a box of Cascade dishwashing detergent down in the laundry room, and that makes me think they're best off leaving it to mom.
