And the birthday week draws to a close...
I had a truly fantastic birthday week, you guys.
My parents are divorced, so there's always at least 2 separate days of festivities, but this year I lucked out and got 5 separate days of fun!
It started last Saturday. My sister made lunch for herself, my dad, his wife, and me. My sister, brother-in-law, and brother got me this fantastic giant glass candle holder thing that goes perfectly with my bedding. I love it. My dad and stepmom totally surprised me with an X-Box 360 Elite and Guitar Hero 3. I had absolutely no idea they were going to do something so crazy.
On Tuesday, the actual day of birth, I went out to dinner with
clementine21 and her husband,
lallybroch and her mister, and
everlastingwhy. We had delicious Thai food and after we stuffed ourselves, everyone but
everlastingwhy decided to go see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. It was just as terrible and fantastic as you'd think.
(I was also informed that my very first X-Box purchase had to be Left 4 Dead because, "It's zombies, Leah! ZOMBIES.")
On Thursday, Mom treated me to Indian food and got me all new jewelry making tools. Yay!
Saturday night,
leighblack,
seimaisin,
doll_revolution, and
rue_quercus gathered at Majors for what we thought would be a low-key, pre-Superbowl dinner. Instead, we all paid $5 for the pleasure of watching the UFC PPV event.
The Octagon. Because four sides can't contain it.
Anyhoo. After that, we hit Drcula's for midnight bowling and had a raucous good time. Mostly mocking the super trashy (and super trashed) bridal party next to us. I had an awesome time, but I should have stretched out or something because bowling 3 games after not bowling for over a year apparently equals at least two days of a jacked up back for me.
I'm sort of immobile and old today. :-p
I have one more birthday function left - meeting up with my best friend from high school; but we need to schedule that still.
