Question...

on Southern grammar, specifically Texas.

Is the proper plural 'you' in Texas 'all y'all' or is it something else?

from NC...

It can be either "y'all" or "all y'all". The singular (if you care) is "ya" or "yer".

I've lived in NC way too long...

And as for your actual question, I can't speak for Texans (thank God), but in my house usually 'y'all' is singular and 'all y'all' is plural. 'Y'all' can be plural, though. Why? Because it's shorter and the entire point of the word 'y'all' is that Southern people are lazy fucks who don't like using more words than they have to.

ha. I had typed something else before that paragraph but I deleted it. I just forgot to delete the 'And as for your actual question,' part. ::cringe:: I'm a loser. Ignore that.

You're not a loser! And your package is going in the mail tomorrow.

Yeah. I know FL and LA and NC are all y'all, but I was just curious if TX was different because, well, Texas.

Yay! ::dances:: I heart you, dude.

Texas. Bleh. Much like Alabama, I just don't see the point in it.

Because I <3 you as well, there just might be (hah!) something in your package besides a CD.

Aw. Dude! Oh my God, I'm so excited. I was excited enough at the prospect of new music but now there's a special surprise inside? You, my darling twin, are beyond awesome. ::hugs::

As a Texan can I just comment that no one I know says that. At all. It's like a stereotype that we do. Some people probably do, I don't know. It's a big state, but no one I know uses that.

Just wanted to say that. I'm done now.

Thanks for talking crap about my state. Really. Enjoy hearing that. Truly.

Don't believe me. Hmmm...

Hey, thanks. All my southern friends are either from Florida, Louisiana, or the Carolinas.
