Hitchhike across the country? WTF?

[identity profile] ruggerdavey.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
*snorts* I'm sure the dad was real pleased with that one (as if he'd ever let Martin do that).

[identity profile] carleton97.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
I just have trouble believing that happened.

[identity profile] ruggerdavey.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
I know. When Martin said it, I was all, "ha. Yeah right. You wish you'd hitch-hiked across the country Martin." I don't understand how they think Martin's dad would ever let him do that.

[identity profile] carleton97.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Or, really, how Martin would even have considered it.

[identity profile] carolinecrane.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe it was France. Or Spain. It's still done in Europe all the time, and he didn't say which country.

Yeah. Lamest use of exposition to get a point across ever. I've got nothing.

*grins* I hadn't even gotten past my disbelief at Daddy Fitzgerald allowing it to considering whether
Martin would even think of it.

Just plain lazy writing.

[identity profile] carolinecrane.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
There's a lot of that on this show, unfortunately. If you're not in it for the hoyay you're pretty much screwed.

[identity profile] carleton97.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's lucky that I only love the hoyay, then, isn't it?

I'd like a story, though, about Martin raking Danny over the coals re: his behavior at the end of last season. If it weren't, you know, kind of out of character.

[identity profile] carolinecrane.livejournal.com 2003-09-26 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'd like that story too. But yeah, it'd be OOC, you're right. The closest I could come was that thing I wrote where Martin doesn't say anything, but thinks a lot of bad things in Danny's general direction.

Martin's blown his top occasionally at Danny over work stuff, so he can be pushed, but it would take some finessing to get it right. Big project. Big, big project.

Man, yeah.

Because he just wouldn't unless there were extraordinary circumstances. I can't even imagine what would trigger it.

A combination of his father and being shunted aside at work again, I'd think.
