I know. I want to cry every time that freakshow starts defending Jack/Martin again, because there is no slash potential where Jack is concerned. None. Besides, why would anyone go for an unrealistic pairing when there is another guy who's Martin's equal and he's *right there* and he's obviously totally into it? I don't get it.
That list makes me want to finish my Denial!Fic, though, because I had high hopes for that longish fic that got posted today, and then she had Danny drinking. Twice. She's a nice girl and she's writing the right pairing at least, but how does everyone keep missing that huge detail?
Well somebody's going to have to write the 'why doesn't Danny drink' fic eventually, because the show is obviously not going to fill in that hole any time soon. I shouldn't have called Alethia on it onlist because I really like her, but dude.
Not that anybody ever listens to me when canon interferes with their fic purposes, because if they did they wouldn't be slashing Jack. Or Gil. Or Warrick. Or a lot of other badwrong pairings I could think of.
And you know, you keep wondering about Danny's family. It is possible that he both had brothers and was in foster care.In several different scenarios, actually.
Yeah, it's very possible. It's kind of weird that he was the only one in the car with the parents when they died, though. And the only one in that picture. I still think the writers don't know what they're talking about. There's all this Danny backstory to be explored, and no one's writing it. Instead they're writing crazy, implausible Martin/Michael Biehn crossovers and ::shudder:: Jack slash.
Someday maybe I will delve into Danny's past, if only because I have a feeling nobody else is going to do it. There will be plenty of time for that next season while I'm busy denying canon in every way possible.
