Have discovered missing 32GB of HDD is due to old version of BIOS running on computer.

Have found BIOS update for chipset (ASUS A7V rev 1003).

Cannot update because floppy drive is apparently non functional.

Alternate option - buy Ultra ATA 133 PCI card. If by 'buy' you mean tell Dad it is a part of his birthday present to me...

Must ponder.
