Title: But This Hour
Author: carleton97
Fandom: bandslash/AI8
Rating: NC17
Wordcount: ~15K
Summary: When Adam needs a new sound engineer in the middle of his tour, events conspire to bring Bob Bryar to his door.

Disclaimer: Not mine, never were. Also? DON'T GOOGLE YOURSELF.

Notes: Um, random pairing is random? This is the result of the interview Adam did with... Parade (I think) forever ago taking about running into MCR in the studio and how much he loved them. That spurred the thought in me about Bob being a secret fan since he has been known to love him some pop music. Since there isn't necessarily a lot of crossover between fandoms, I've got a little information and a couple of links for your perusal.

Adam for bandslashers: What do you mean, you don't know who Adam Lambert is? El Glamberto was the runner-up in the 8th season of American Idol. He is a tall, fabulous drink of water with sparkles to spare. Here is a primer that's about a year old, but pretty comprehensive up to his tour shenanigans from the past year:

Bob for Idol slashers: Bob Bryar was the drummer for My Chemical Romance from 2005 - 2010. Prior to that he was a sound engineer. He is hella hot and a little goofy. His departure from the band earlier this year created bad feelings in some fans who believe the bulk of MCR handled it poorly and disingenuously, but that is neither here nor there. Here is a bit of a pictorial primer showing the many faces of Bob:

Summary: So, now he's got a decade's worth of anti-psychotics whizzing through his system, but even that can't stop the constant, tiny voice in the back of his head whispering sanesanesanesane.
Disclaimer: Not mine, never were.

I watched this movie on F/X one night forever ago about an evil Tooth Fairy/witch/wrongly murdered woman killing people and it was good. It just sort of got to me.

Title and cut text are from the Empires song Spit the Dark.

Fic Graveyard Post #16 CSI:M/Sports Night

OK, so CSI: Miami.

As I mentioned before Tim Speedle is one of my fandom kryptonites.

I will wedge him into any story possible if just to fix the character assassination wrought by his ignominious end.

One of things I love most about him is the BLATANTLY GAY BACKSTORY whomever was in control of the CBS website in the early 2000's came up with. Before you accuse me of being a deluded slasher, just read this (it's paraphrased since CBS took down his old character bio and I can't find it while I'm at work, but it's accurate):

Tim grew up in upstate NY where father was a restaurant chef and his mother was a social worker. He had a brother who was significantly younger and a best friend (I named him David). Tim and his best friend had plans after they graduated high school to go to college together. Their plans were derailed, however, when David was seriously injured during their senior ski trip. In addition to severe internal injuries, he became parapelegic. So when Tim went off to college, he spent all of his time researching paralysis, trying to come up with a rememdy for David. Tragically, after about two years (all of them in the hospital, it sounded like), David died from his injuries.

At this point, Tim jumps on his motorcycle and disappears for a year and no one knows where he is until he shows up on David's uncle's doorstep in Miami. David's uncle was the county coroner and it's through him that Tim meets Megan and gets interested in forensic science. He finishes school and starts working for the Miami crime lab...

Honestly, that shit is GAY. I'm just saying.

Except for the SPN xover I posted earlier, all of the stories -- posted and unfinished -- I have for him are sort of interrelated.

It starts with this snippet below which details the fun, sexytimes Speed and David have on their senior trip immediately before the tragic accident:

seriously, I can bring the angst if I try )

The tale continues in the story I wrote for a fic exchange called A Thousand Whispers.

The next bit is Sawdust Voices which is actually one of my favorite things that I've ever written. This is also part of the tattoo series I had in my head.

Next comes canon except, instead of dying in that jewelry store, Tim gets a total wakeup call. He does not actually want to die, but he does't want to be involved in law enforcement either. So he quits his job, moves back to NY state, and enrolls in graduate school.

It's then that he meets a certain sportscaster of our acquaintance.

this is really long )

Fic Graveyard Post #15: Hawaii Danny/Chris

So, a few years back, the new TV season was getting ready to start and I was super excited that Michael Biehn was going to be on my TV in a new cop drama called Hawaii. I thought for sure it'd be successful because it was up against some other new show about a plane crash or something?

Yeah, I picked the loser on that one. Hawaii lasted about 8 episodes before it was smothered by the Lost monster.

Eight episodes was all I needed, though to totally fall in love with the characters of Danny (Ivan Sergei) and Chris (Eric Balfour). I wrote two stories for the fandom back in 04/05 -- Mele Kelikimaka and Panic Movement -- but had four others plotted out. One is just a silly little thing, the second is part of a group of stories I was working on about tattoos and the last two the second and third parts of the story started in Panic Movement.

this first one is what I called hawaii manga story )

the tattoo story )

this picks up directly after Panic Movement and goes to the end of the story )

So one of my very favorite characters ever is Tim Speedle from the first couple seasons of CSI:Miami. I loved his attitude and his backstory and his hot, hotass self. I thought it was character assassination of the highest degree when they killed him off the way they did, so I have a few different ways that I've fixed that over the years.

This first one doesn't ignore his death and is an xover with Supernatural that ends up Speed(sort of)/Dean.

I have a problem, okay? )

Fic Graveyard Post #13 Hocus Pocus

So, [ profile] exitsign loves the movie Hocus Pocus a whole lot and is fascinated by poor cat-i-fied Thackery Binx and his best friend Elijah. We spent a good lot of time talking about how they would sneak around touching each other in naughty places then feeling horrible, Puritan guilt about all of it.

Then Binx's sister is kidnapped by the witches and he's turned into a cat and Elijah is left all by himself to live in a cabin in the woods until he dies alone and miserable. Elijah spends the next few hundred years in heaven watching the world change and Binx wander around as a kitty cat, just waiting for the witches to be defeated so they can have a heavenly reunion.

I feel like there's more hidden in LJ comments, but since I think we did this in 2005-6, I can't quite recall. If I find it, I'll update this post with the additional info.

This was mostly [ profile] exitsign's baby, but she said it was okay to post it with the rest of the stuff.

Seriously, we spent a lot of time on this )

Back in the misty watercolor days of S1 Atlantis, when everything was bright with possibilities and not yet tarnished by the machinations of SyWTFy, [ profile] exitsign had a big old crush on Sgt. Bates and wanted him to find happiness so he could stop being such a tightass.

So we hooked him up with Dr. Simpson )

About a thousand years ago (in fandom years), I wrote an SGA flashfic for the 38 minutes challenge. It was Ancient device genderfuckery called The Rose in the Worm and I never quite finished the sequel.

Fic Graveyard Post #8 Drake & Josh

So, a million years ago, [ profile] exitsign and I wrote this filthy story about Drake & Josh & Yooka, the crazy exchange student. It was called Like a Goat and Carriage and was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to that universe.

god, so much crazy )

So I wrote Shadows Keep On Changing which is a McGee/Dean story and [ profile] exitsign wrote the immediate sequel i'm just giving you a warning.

I had originally planned to write another story wherein Tim & Tony end up getting together over the haunting of Tim's sister's place...

Sequel to NCIS/SPN xover )

Fic Graveyard Post #4 Pacey Witter!

  • Aug. 21st, 2009 at 9:43 AM
carleton97: (Default)
So Pacey Witter might be one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. I vividly remember watching the first few seasons of Dawson's Creek and wondering why anyone would waste their time with The Beek when Pacey was right there.

I always thought that, even though I'm sure it made a lot of people happy, having him drop his entire life to move to the city with Joey in the finale was stupid and lame. And Joey had totally turned into a bitch by then. So I kept having (ok, I won't lie, I still have them) all these scenarios pop into my head where he ends up back in Capeside. They're sort of the same story again and again, but [ profile] exitsign was shameless in encouraging me.

Below are two of them.

Pacey/Bobby Ray from Sweet Home Alabama )

Pacey/Bright from Everwood )
